The Future?

So senior year is fast approaching and the great protective womb of college is preparing to kick us all out in to the overly bright, cold and cruel world.

Less than a quarter of our engineering class has managed to find an internship for the summer and or for this up coming school year. Sending out billions of emails and jumping at every opportunity, still nothing.

Surely I can't be the only one freaking out about my future can I? Graduating college in nine months with no internship and limited job experience... And with this current economic situation no one is going to be hiring any interns, and just about everyone is on a complete hiring freeze. So what are we suppose to do? Most of us are going to be up to our necks in debt when we graduate and even if we do manage to find jobs it will likely pay only 30K a year for the first few years. And because of that most of us will end up living on top ramen like we were still in college.

How bleak is your future? So anyone got an internship for a Civil Engineering Undergrad who had job experience both in and out of the office?
